Gyeong (庚) and Sin (辛) Compatibility: Raw Ore and Polished Jewel
Gyeong (庚, Yang Metal) and Sin (辛, Yin Metal) are the same metal at two stages: the raw ore in the hill and the finished jewel on a hand. They understand each other's values almost too well, and that closeness carries a built-in rivalry.
The elemental dynamic
The relation is the same element: Metal and Metal. Unlike a same-stem pair, the polarities are opposite. Gyeong is Yang, heavy and blunt, an axe or a girder. Sin is Yin, refined and precise, a ring, a scalpel, a sewing needle. They share the same core (principle, standards, a taste for clarity) but express it in completely different textures.
There is an old observation that weak Sin can lean on strong Gyeong for backbone, the way a fine tool needs a solid handle. The opposite observation is just as common: an axe beside a jewel is liable to scratch it. Which image applies depends mostly on how strong each person's Metal is in the full chart.
How each sees the other
Here the roles are symmetrical. Gyeong sees Sin as Rob Wealth, and Sin sees Gyeong as Rob Wealth (겁재, 劫財, geopjae).
Rob Wealth is the peer star of opposite polarity. Its themes are boldness, ambition, rivalry, risk-taking and an instinct to compete for the same resources. It also carries a positive side: a Rob Wealth companion is the one who backs you in a fight and pushes you to aim higher. Unlike Friend, which is a mirror, Rob Wealth is a sibling who is different enough to compete with.
In the traditional gendered reading, Rob Wealth for a man is said to "rob" Wealth, which is his classical wife star, so older texts associate it with rivalry over partners or money. For women it is read more generally as a competitive peer. A neutral version fits most modern pairs: you are equals who naturally measure yourselves against each other, especially over shared money, credit and attention. See the Rob Wealth page.
Combination or clash
There is no stem combination and no clash between them. Gyeong combines (합, 合, hap) with Eul, Sin combines with Byeong. Their clashes (충, 沖, chung) point elsewhere too: 甲庚 for Gyeong and 乙辛 for Sin.
One quirk is worth noting. Eul (乙, Yin Wood) is Gyeong's combination partner and also Sin's clash partner. So an Eul year, or a third person with a strong Eul presence, can draw Gyeong in while unsettling Sin at the same time. Practitioners differ on how much to read into this between two charts, but it is a neat example of how the pairing's balance can shift with outside influences rather than from within.
In love
Mutual respect, high standards and lively debate. Gyeong admires Sin's finesse; Sin admires Gyeong's courage. Trouble usually comes from comparison: who earns more, who is right, who got the compliment. Shared finances deserve explicit rules early on, since Rob Wealth is the star most associated with money friction between equals.
At work
A strong pairing for competitive fields where two styles help: a negotiator and a technical specialist, a field lead and a quality lead. Friendly rivalry raises both their output. Joint ventures should set ownership and profit splits on paper.
Making it work
Turn rivalry outward. Pick a shared target, a project, a race, a savings goal, so the competitive drive points at the world rather than at each other. Gyeong can soften its touch; Sin can stop keeping silent score.

FAQ
Why do Gyeong and Sin both see each other as Rob Wealth?
They share the Metal element but have opposite polarity. In Ten God terms that relationship is Rob Wealth in both directions.
Is Rob Wealth bad for a relationship?
It points to rivalry, especially over money and recognition, but also to loyalty and mutual push. Clear agreements usually matter more than the star itself.
Do Gyeong and Sin combine or clash?
Neither. Gyeong combines with Eul and clashes with Gap; Sin combines with Byeong and clashes with Eul.
